Kuld Kid on the Block
A hot summer's day calls for homemade, freshly churned icecream and Kuld the new ice creamery hidden in a laneway beside Blacksmith in Mt Lawley, does not disappoint. Opening today with $3 ice-cream scoops this cool store is a welcome addition to Beaufort Street. The ice-cream is churned the old-fashioned way, in small batches, bringing back sweet childhood memories. Live the American Dream right here in Australia!
Scooping up fresh flavours such as Burnt Marshmallow - they make the marshmallows on site! Peanut butter cookie and chocolate - the peanut butter cookies are house baked and then added into the ice-cream. Blacksmith Cold Brew- they use coffee from Blacksmith next door, who are known for their rich coffee. London Fog - which is made with Earl Grey tea and is the newest trend. Mint Chip - which is not artificially coloured to look green. Lastly Vanilla Bean- a classic favourite.
Michael Dunstan, a local musician with his cool tunes was there to accompany the chilled out vibe. The store is open Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm - 10pm. We left having consumed our body weight in ice-cream! We will be back to try the flavours we missed out on and the upcoming Lemon Curd flavour, as we heard that will be the way to kick start your zesty summer!
