On a cold and blustery morning we took a stroll and tried out the newly opened and welcoming haven of Tiisch café, situated on the corner of Milligan and Hay Street in the old Dome building. The name comes from zu tisch, which means in German, to gather a community around the table to dine and is very fitting for this stunning venue.
Do you love interior design and the modern world contrasted with old world charm? If you do, you will adore Tiisch. The building the café is situated in has one of the most intricately beautiful ceilings and molded and detailed cornices. The whole place is very Pinterest and Instagram worthy with its new Jungalow style - decorating with a wild plant theme and looks like it has been taken from the pages of 'Home Beautiful' magazine.
Greenworld Revolution supplies all the micro farm planter boxes with micro herbs and vegetables placed around the perimeter of the café. We love the concept of Greenworld Revolution, partnering with companies like Tiisch and creating jobs for the unemployed. Littleleafco has also supplied the other green, luscious plants hung at different heights around the place in the new Jungalow style.
We tried the charmingly presented macadamia granola with starfruit, coconut labne, with seeds, nuts, coconut, strawberries, edible flowers and milk in its own individual quaint sized pint. We also had the more hearty speck and egg brioche roll, with gruyere cheese and bbq sauce.
Pressed earth supplies the beautiful cold pressed juice including matcha and green apple juice. Matcha is all the rage at this café from matcha pancakes to matcha cookies and lattes, all with that green tea kick and sweetness.
We took away a lip-smacking Smore’s cronut and are sure to be back soon for we have been eying the Matcha pancakes and pistachio cruffins!
