Mountains of Salads

The Isle of Voyage enjoys a prime location that affords stunning views of our fair city.  As soon as you walk in, you are dazzled by the bright whiteness and the energy that flows through the area. It is superbly designed and architecturally sound. The hexagon shaped central area and the large bay windows, will take your breath away. You may choose to avail of the indoor or outdoor seating but no matter where you sit the views are stupendous.

On entry we were greeted by the friendly staff and were allowed to choose a table right by the window, from which we had a majestic view.  After enjoying a crisp, dry white Alkoomi Riesling, and a Pink Cooler (apple, pear and watermelon) which was truly refreshing, we placed our orders for lunch.  We relished the crab tagliatelle which was laden with tasty morsels of Blue Swimmer crab, with pops of flavoursome chilli, lime and capers. The addition of pangrattato and cherry tomatoes livened the dish no end. We can recommend the fish cakes, which proved to be filling and tasty.  There was a generous serve of fish cakes which were composed of both ocean trout and snapper. They were delish on their own and were enhanced by homemade sugo, tartare sauce and side salad. Daily salads are on offer and we chose the one which was full of veggie goodness, which included braised cauliflower, broccoli, green peas, pomegranate and more. Certainly got our daily recommended dose of vegies in one hit! We were delighted by the oven roasted potato and lemon gnocchi which was dressed with colourful tomatoes, basil and pinenut pesto and freshly shaved parmesan.

There were so many tempting cakes to choose from but in the end we settled on the delicious individual apple pies that were housemade and proved tasty to the last bite. The dollop of cream complemented them wonderfully. We rounded off our meal with full bodied long macchiatos.

The restaurant was groaning with people but the young and energetic staff were on their toes and provided an excellent level of service. The pizza menu looks interesting and we will definitely be back as they have a wood-fired oven.  We encourage you to voyage to the Isle, enjoy the splendid views and the ambience created by the twinkling lights in the evening.
