After our recent very enjoyable dining experience at Bistro Bellavista, all we can say is ‘Bravo’! Bistro Bellavista located in East Perth is a modern, Italian/ Mediterranean bistro that ticks all the right boxes. The venue, the food, the service and the ambiance, will have you coming back time after time. Traditional time honoured recipes are used with a modern take. A constantly changing menu means you have the opportunity to experience cuisine from the different regions of Italy.
Recently, Bistro Bellavista was awarded the much coveted Gold Plate award for best European/Mediterranean style restaurant for 2017, as well as being a finalist in the best pizza category. If that, in itself is not enough to sway you to visit, our review certainly will!
We perused the menu for a minute, while sipping on a chilled Prosecco and a delightful Cinderella mocktail. Everything on the menu looked so tempting, that we were hard pressed to make our choices. The beautiful waitress drew our attention to the specials and then we made our selections. We started off with the delicious, melt in your mouth arancini. The arancini were huge, made up of tasty porcini mushrooms, pea and mozzarella and dusted with Parmesan and served on tasty truffle oil mayo. Next our tastebuds were tantalised by the Gamberoni Tempura - giant golden, WA tiger prawns fried in a Peroni batter with a hint of Szechuan pepper and served with housemade aioli and fresh lemon. They were supberb!
For our main course, we opted for the lasagna and the Pesce del Giorno (Fish of the Day). The lasagna is made fresh to order and was packed with flavour. The pasta was al dente, the sauce thick and tasty and the béchamel and Mozzarella brought a wonderful richness to the dish. The lively Garden salad and the sourdough garlic bread were excellent accompaniments. The Pesce del Giorno was a magnificent, fresh fillet of Barramundi grilled to perfection and served on a bed of creamy mash with vibrant green beans and a zesty, tomato vinaigrette. Every mouthful was pure pleasure. We were quite satiated at this stage but no meal is complete without a sweet ending. We enjoyed the Cannolo Scomposlo which consisted of deconstructed cannoli, with fresh ricotta, candied fruits, berry coulis and sprinkled with crushed pistachios. We can thoroughly recommend the Pizza Alla Nutella - dessert pizza generously slathered with nutella and dressed up with fresh strawberries. The base was light and crispy and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The venue is a huge open space that can accommodate up to 120 people. The interior design by Mata Design and the beautiful Tuscany murals make you feel like you are somewhere under the Tuscan sun. There is a gelato room and a dedicated wine room stocked with a huge array of both local and imported wines. Thanks to the recent addition of a wood fired oven the pizzas are out of this world. The dough is made and rested between 48- 72 hours. Service is off the charts, the staff are absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive and competent. They make you feel special from start to finish. The Manager Alfredo Chiella and Elena Fenu are warm and welcoming and run the establishment with efficiency and pizzazz. There is a sense of camaraderie and bonhomie at Bistro Bellavista and the music keeps things jolly. For your convenience takeaway is available as well as Ubereats. Why not hit them up for your next function, they will be more than happy to assist. Bistro Bellavista is open seven days a week and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are special Pizza, Pasta and Parmigiana nights. Thank you Bistro Bellavista for an outstanding dining experience and we look forward to our next visit!
