Pit-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, at Small Print
Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, the baker man Marty at Small Print certainly bakes everything with glee! You would be hard pressed to find such a beautiful assortment of baked goods anywhere else in Perth. The name pays homage to its heritage as the former Newspaper House. It is conveniently located directly under Print Hall at Brookfield Place. The fit out is modern and there are plenty of choices when it comes to seating.
The coffee is exceptional, as the beans are sourced from around the globe and the baristas take great pride in creating the perfect cup of coffee. Pair this with a giant, mouthwatering raspberry jam shortbread biscuit and you have a match made in heaven. Seriously, this shortbread is the best we have ever tasted, it is light, buttery and oh so delicious! A steal at just $3.50 a pop! The lemon meringue tart was equally scrumptious and dressed up with tiny, perfect meringue peaks. The lunch menu offers a tempting array of dishes or for something lighter you can choose filled rolls or soup to takeaway. At lunch time we enjoyed some fresh fish and crisp, golden chips. The batter was light, and the hand-cut chips were complemented by the tartare sauce.
The food and the excellent service is what keeps us going back time after time. Even at busy times the staff are always friendly and helpful and the service is prompt. We strongly recommend next time you’re in the CBD you check out this city gem!
